Whether you’re ultra creative or a total beginner, our workshops are ideal for you. Our expert tutor, Jo Thompson (and guest tutors) have a wealth of experience, a passion for teaching and know some rather clever ‘tricks of the trade’ that they’re happy to share!
So, as well as getting ‘hands on’ and learning a variety of techniques on the day, you’ll also receive valuable insider tips including insights into the right materials to use, as well as plenty of inspirational design ideas too!
From the moment you arrive we want you to feel totally relaxed and enjoy the whole experience. Life can be so busy, so as well as learning new skills, there’s a little bit of ‘you’ time in there too…With refreshments on arrival and either tea and cake or an afternoon tea style lunch (depending on which workshop package you’ve chosen).

In our New and delightful ‘Step into the Garden’ Gift Wrapping Workshop you’ll learn ‘hands on’ how to wrap a variety of shapes in pretty materials, as well as discovering top time and money saving tips along the way too.
Afterwards, it’s time to sit back, relax and indulge in a delicious afternoon tea style lunch, all within the beautiful historic venue of Wortley Hall.
Techniques: You’ll learn several awkward shapes (including how to beautifully wrap a bottle) plus you’ll master the perfect wrapping of more flatter objects such as a book.
Materials: You’ll use a mix of pretty materials to wrap and decorate your gifts with a floral theme, including some fresh seasonal foliage/flowers.
What’s included: Pastries, fruit, tea/coffee on arrival and an afternoon tea style lunch. Plus, all materials, including items to wrap, which are yours to keep and take home with you!

Themed to embrace the beautiful nature around us in wintertime, this festive workshop has a suitably hygge feel, making it the perfect way to learn new gift wrapping techniques and get you into the festive spirit, all whilst enjoying being cosied up in the historic venue of Wortley Hall.
Join us for this magical workshop, where UK Gift Wrapping Specialist Jo Thompson will teach you ‘hands on’ a variety of gift wrapping techniques, which you’ll then beautifully decorate, all with materials and touches to compliment the festive/nordic theme, including using some fresh foliage.
Come on your own or with a friend and enjoy learning new skills, time, money and planet saving hacks, then relax and enjoy the delightful setting of this historic venue whilst eating a delicious afternoon tea style lunch!

To run our workshops we require a minimum of 6 persons. Therefore, please register your interest using the form below (or contact us on 01226 492770). We’ll then contact you direct to confirm places/availability and begin the booking process (as appropriate).
Our courses are run either remotely online or in person at various locations. All locations are handpicked to add to the experience of your day by providing touches such as homemade cakes or beautiful and relaxing surroundings. A list of our venues can be found on the contacts page of our site or for further information please do contact us. Please note that not all venues may have disabled access so do contact us direct to check before making a booking. All the venues have free parking facilities on site. (Please note that all vehicles are left at owners risk and in strict accordance with the venues parking regulations, we are not responsible for use or misuse of parking facilities). Should you be looking to extend your stay, some of the venues we use offer overnight accommodation, please contact them direct to find out more. Please note however that our workshops do not include this within the price and that any booking agreement made is between you and the venue.
Please see individual workshops for full information these will differ accordingly if they are virtual or in person. For in person workshops, as a general rule, complimentary refreshments on arrival (ie tea/coffee, biscuits), all materials and some items to take home on the day are included in the price of our workshops (with the exclusion of private workshops held at a venue supplied by you.) Some workshops include lunch (where stated) including all workshops of 4 hours or above and lunch times will be discussed on the day but usually last between 30 to 45 mins.
If you or your guest are attending for a special occasion, please let us know if you wish us to organise birthday cake and candle blowing!
For those workshops with lunch etc included, please let us know at the time of booking (or as soon as you are aware) if you have any special dietary requirements. If the venue is not able to cater for your dietary requirement for any reason, we will notify you to discuss and where necessary and if your booking has already been processed, we reserve the right to cancel your place in line with our cancellation policy
To make a booking please click through to the booking hub (via the link next to your chosen course) and pay for the course you wish to attend. If this is an ‘in person’ course we will then send you a booking form to complete with dietary requirements etc. Please note that this is not necessary for virtual workshops.
If we are not yet taking bookings , please register interest by completing the ‘Register your interest’ form above or call us on 01226 492770 and provide us with details of the workshop you’d like to attend.
If we do not have sufficient interest to start the booking process your interest will be registered and once the booking process begins we will contact you to offer you a place and either send you a booking form or (for our virtual workshops) we’ll simply direct you to the booking hub to book your place.
If you are attending an ‘in person’ workshop please note that all bookings will be ‘provisional’ until booking forms are returned and payment made.
Please note that we can only save places provisionally for 7 days without a confirmed booking being made for ‘in person’ workshops.
Please also note that we may withdraw a provisional date of a workshop if we don’t have sufficient interest or for other reasons. If this is the case, we’ll contact you to let you know and offer to keep your name on our ‘interest’ list for future workshops.
Payments can be made directly online by using the link through to your chosen workshop. We also have other options available if you prefer and these are provided on the booking form including payment by gift voucher.
Please note our policy on refunds and cancellations to virtual courses are not the same as those for our in person courses.
Virtual Courses:
Please note that we are not able to accept cancellations or offer refunds on any bookings made for our virtual workshops. Should however we ourselves be unable to provide the workshop due to unforeseen circumstances ie internet connection/technology failures at our end, illness etc then in such unforseen circumstances, we would offer a place on a different date if possible or refund monies in full as soon as possible as preferred.
